SPHERU conducts evaluation research that studies the effectiveness of policies and programs in their efforts to make social and environmental conditions healthier and more equitable. These evaluations are usually undertaken in partnership with policy and program personnel, so that their knowledge can contribute to evaluation design, and their engagement in the process can better equip them to put the findings into practice.
