HIV/AIDS, maternal health and mother identities: Narrative Constructions, health-related behaviours and programming implications

— filed under:

Abstract

This community-based research will determine the interrelationship between women's experiences with motherhood and HIV/AIDS in a context where HIV/AIDS is highly indigenized.  We hope to assess how mother identities affect health-related beliefs and behaviours of women accessing the services of AIDS Saskatoon and to determine what HIV/AIDS related resources and services in Saskatoon and regionally are empowering to mothers infected with and affected by HIV/Aids and build capacity to enhance those practices
