Introduction to Community-Based Participatory Evaluation: Basics for Communities

Project Overview:

Assessing the value and impact of our work is an ongoing process.  The results often show the worth, merit, or significance of a project.  SPHERU has worked to provide a guide to moving through the evaluation process.  Sharing lessons learned and our knowledge in this area is an important aspect of our overall knowledge exchange strategy.  Throughout our history, SPHERU has successfully evaluated many programs both within and outside our organization.

The evaluation process involves many stages.  Key aspects of the process involve

  • The determination of questions to be answered throughout the evaluation process
  • Developing logic models outlining the overall structure and function of a program, and
  • Considering the unique ethical considerations of conducting evaluations.
