Dr. Hongxia Shan is a recent graduate from the adult education and community development program at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include immigration, health, qualitative methods, gender studies, and community development.
Dr. Shan is currently a sessional lecturer in the Department of Women's Studies at Wilfred Laurier University. Under the supervision of SPHERU Researcher Dr. Nazeem Muhajarine, she will be working on the KidsFirst and Smart Cities Healthy Kids projects.
The goal of her post doctoral research is to bring an interdisciplinary perspective and mixed methodology expertise to understanding the health of marginalized communities in Saskatchewan communities.
